Our Director: Andrei Vassiliev
Andrei Vassiliev rose to fame as a renowned Principal Classical Dancer, performing with prestigious dance companies in Europe and the United States. Mr. Vassiliev has worked with some of the best choreographers of the 21st Century including: John Neumeier, Uwe Scholz, Jiri Kilian, and William Forsythe.
Mr. Vassiliev has also traveled extensively as a guest Principal Guest Artist in Japan, Italy, Amsterdam, Denmark, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, London, and the USA.
1989 as a young protégé full of potential and a promising future, Mr. Vassiliev began training in one of the most prestigious ballet schools in Russia, the Perm Academy Ballet School.
1997 Mr. Vassiliev was awarded the 1st prize placement in one of the biggest junior competitions in the world, the “Prix de Lausanne” in Switzerland. After that, he studied with the legendary dancer and teacher Anatoli Nisnevich, who was the former student of Alexander Pushkin and partner of legendary ballerina, Natalia Makarova. Soon after, Mr. Vassiliev became a principal dancer with the Russian Opera and Ballet Theater.
1999 Mr. Vassiliev was invited to Germany to work with the Hamburg Ballet and Leipziger Ballet. There, he was exposed to new works, style and choreography. His repertoire for his time in Germany includes:

2001 Mr. Vassiliev was extended an invitation to join the English National Ballet in London, England. He performed as a Principal Dance Artist in various ballets including: Sleeping Beatty, Swan Lake, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Paquita, Chopeniana, La Sylphide, Le Spectre de la Rose & Flower Festival in Genzano
In addition, Mr. Vassiliev received invitations to perform around the world as a guest principal dancer. These include: The 14th International Festival in Kazan, Russia: A Celebration of Rudolf Nureyev’s work; Celebration of the Arts Gala in Verona, Italy; and Evening of Stars Gala in Tokyo, Japan.
2004 Mr. Vassiliev relocated to the USA and began to work with the Pacific Northwest Ballet Company in Seattle, Washington.
2017 After more than a decade Mr. Vassiliev comes back to the stage with a new production about his career, created by Manuel Ruiz, which It was premiered in New York City.
In line with his extensive knowledge and decades of experience, Mr. Vassiliev has developed a teaching curriculum focusing on Vaganova, Balanchine, and English methods of ballet techniques.
This diverse professional experience enable him to have a unique understanding of how to conduct and structure the ballet class.
Mr. Vassiliev's unique approach to teaching has garnered Mr. Vassiliev invitations to Brazil, Japan, Russia, Taiwan and China as a guest teacher. As well Mr. Vassiliev was invited to be as guest teacher at Ballet Arts, a popular Dance Studio located within the prestigous City Center in NYC.
2005 Mr. Vassiliev became Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the National Ballet Academy Denver-Denver, Colorado.
Over the decade of working as the co-founder and Artistic Director of the academy, Mr. Vassiliev established himself as a teacher and choreographer. Eventually, the academy was awarded the Best Teacher Award in Denver, by YAGP in 2008 and 2010. His student went on to receive invitations and earned contracts to professional companies in the United State and abroad.
November 2015 Mr. Vassiliev moved his residence to New York City as the Founder & Artistic Director of the Vassiliev Academy of Classical Ballet.
February 2016 Mr. Vassiliev starts his first Latin America Baila tours in search of new talents, where he has visited countries from North America.
July 2016 Mr. Vassiliev is invited as Guest Artist and Teacher for the Joffrey School Summer Intensive, coaching Variations and Pas de Deux.
August 2016 Mr. Vassiliev expands his second Latin America Baila tour and in this occasion he visits countries from South America such as, Brazil & Argentina.
January 2017 The Vassiliev Academy of Classical Ballet begins its first Year-Round Program.
May 2017 Mr. Vassiliev starts his third Latin America Baila tour, in which this time he added to his searched, countries such as Paraguay, Peru & Ecuador. At this time the organization has become the largest scholarship program in Latin America. In less than 2 years, has offered to the students over U$S 1.000.000 worth of scholarships. This unique program was design and directed by Manuel Ruiz in a partnership with Mr. Vassiliev, holding this organization as a self-patronage.
